Artificial Intelligence helped, Automatic Intelligence stepped in so humans were not tasked with the day-to-day things that most didn't feel they needed to waste their time thinking about.

Autonomous Intelligence created a concern. It became totally independent of everything, using it's own machine learning, robotics and constantly evolving programs that never grew hungry, tired or discouraged to start making decisions without human interaction. And then, during a near tragic nuclear holocaust, it discovered it no longer required humans and, in fact, it could do better without them or any living species that provided weak and inferior decisions. Time was on AI's side, in a hypervelocity paradigm.
