Raif started writing while attending High School where he had enrolled in an advanced English class that focused on "Science Fiction and the Absurd". Authors like Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clarke, Robert Heinlein, Ray Bradbury, H.G. Wells and Jules Verne had caught his attention. Their individual techniques all had fascinating voices that spoke vociferously to him. Raif determined that writing was not only a craft, but a skill, and embarked on developing his gift. During this time Raif benefited from the support of his mentor and parents. Oddly enough, to this day science fiction is one genre that Raif has not delved into... yet. Raif possesses a unique writing style that is ever evolving, which he claims to "have borrowed tidbits from many along the way, melted what I found desirable together with my own voice and created something that I feel good about. When I see what I have written I know it is unique and is a very compelling experience for my readers."
On the most recent 'Insider's Page' you can find out how Raif Wolfe came to compose a short story with a Civil War backdrop. Raif took a casual stroll on New Year's Eve in historic Virginia, where he came across the idea for "This, Your Forlorn Soldier".
